
Amitabh Agnihotri, a Post Graduate in Geology from Lucknow University and Forestry from the Forest Research Institute (Deemed University), Dehradun is a member of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) of 1988 Batch borne on the Madhya Pradesh Cadre.
An alumnus of Department of Project Planning Center, University of Bradford, UK, he has a rich experience of about 33 years working in various capacities in the Forest Department, Rural Development Department of Government of M.P. and the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India.
As a Forest and Wildlife Manager always yearning to bring about the change in the present dispensation for management effectiveness and better service to the people, Mr. Agnihotri has been awarded Gold Medal by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1999 for his outstanding contribution in conservation education and management of the forests of Madhya Pradesh.
Amitabh lives in the serene campus of the State Forest Research Institute Jabalpur with his family. An ardent lover of Hindustani Classical Music and Tennis, he still enjoys long walks and treks in the hills and forests.
