Abstracts of Completed Project

  • a. Clonal multiplication of Dendrocalamus asper (Thailand bamboo) through miropropagation technique.

    Findings- D.asper is propagated by using micropropagation technique through nodal explants. Excellent morphogenetic response in terms of shoot induction and shoot multiplication observed, when MS culture medium was supplemented with combination of 3.0mg/lt. BAP & IAA 0.1mg /lt. In vitro raised shoots harvested and separated for root induction, profuse root induction observed when the MS culture medium was supplemented with NAA 3.0mg/lt and IAA 1.0mg/lt. 6500 In vitro regenerated plantlets were shifted in 1:1:1 FYM for acclimatization and hardening and after hardening 70% plants were survived.

  • b. Establishment of an advanced laboratory for molecular characterization and chemoprofiling of Commiphora wightii plant

    Findings-1.Chemoprofiling: The percent concentration of Guggulsterone in the accessions collected from different geographical locations of Rajasthan, Gujrat and MP are presented below-

    • Rajasthan: ranges from 0.65 % to 2.32%.
    • Gujarat: ranges from 0.59 % to 2.22%.
    • MP: ranges from 0.54 % to 2.01%.

    Findings-2. Genetic diversity - Population which collected from Kiradu (historical guggle in India) and surrounding areas of Badmer District (Rajasthan) showed highest genetic diversity is concern.

1. The Trainee/student should deposit registration fee Rs. 2000/- either by cash or by sending the DD in favour of Director, State Forest Research Institute, Jabalpur. The registration fee will be non-refundable.  2. Only Accommodation (Without Meals/foods) will be provided on payment basis @ Rs. 50/per student per day in our hostel.  3. Industrialisation has caused serious problems relating to environmental pollution. With increasing demand for raw materials for industrial production, the non-renewable resources are dwindling day-by-day. Therefore, efforts are to be made for controlling pollution arising out of the disposal of wastes by conversion of these unwanted wastes into utilisable raw materials. The problems relating to disposal of industrial solid waste are associated with lack of infrastructural facilities and negligence of industries to take proper safeguards. It becomes necessary that the local bodies along with State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) work out requisite strategy for organising proper collection and disposal of industrial solid waste. However, through joint efforts of SPCBs, local bodies and the industries, a mechanism could be evolved for better management.

 

Waste Management Approach

A two-tier approach should be thought of for waste management, e.g., (a) prevention & (b) control of environmental pollution. Prevention aims at minimisation of industrial wastes at source, while the latter stresses on treatment and disposal of wastes.
