The State Forest Research institute is located at N 230.07’.21.78" latitude and E 790.54’.84" longitude at Jabalpur in a lush green campus spread over a sprawling area of about 102 ha. Jabalpur is situated on the banks of holy river Narmada. The city is well connected by train, road and has daily connectivity by air from Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The city is gateway to important to wild life sanctuaries which include Kanha Nation Park (160 kms), Bandhavgarh National Park (200 kms), Panna (241 kms) and Pench (212 kms). Other places of tourist interest are Bhedaghat, Bargi dam and Madan Mahal fort.
